10th July – News from the Acorn bubbles – ‘From a Tiny Seed’
We have done lots of seed collecting this week and have learned about how plants are pollinated and different ways in which seeds can be dispersed. We have had some lovely forest school adventures including a dinosaur birthday party, mud potion making and den building in the woods, a slug hunt in the meadow and plenty of wild flower identification. We were also pleased to receive a letter from Jack this week telling us that , having returned the golden hen to the giant, he has made up his mind never to steal again.
In the pre school bubble daily walks we have visited the orchard, playing field and the meadow, and have found lots of different seeds growing in different locations. We have learnt a lovely new song called ‘Plant a little seed’.
Today, we had a special cake snack picnic in the meadow to celebrate Miss Peacey’s special birthday. On the way we saw a heron, listened to the grasshoppers and watched the swallows swooping down to catch their lunch. In the afternoon, we played with the parachute and learnt some new games.
