25th September – Harvesting and planting in Acorn Class and our first PE lesson
This week we have been busy harvesting and planting in the school garden. We have harvested and counted all the tomatoes and we have set up some scientific experiments to find how we can encourage our green tomatoes to turn red (painting them was suggested but we decided against this!) We also collected lots of bean seeds which, again needed counting out into sets of ten.
We dug over our class garden area and planted out winter greens and broad bean seeds. Meanwhile in class we have been weighing and measuring our pumpkin crop and sorting conkers and acorns which we have gathered.
In other news we enjoyed the excitement of our first PE lesson in the playground and we all managed to get changed into and out of our PE kits and to go home wearing our own clothes, which was quite an achievement!
