The children had a great time being sense detectives. We used all of our senses to help a little girl find her teddy bear. The bear smelled of mint, liked eating apples, had a squeak in his tummy, had a paw print that was 10cm wide and felt soft and furry. The children had to try different samples to find the clues to work out who was the missing teddy bear. We have now been writing up our findings as every good Scientist should! Great fun was had by all although the blindfolded tasting of lemons and olives was not as popular as the sweets!
What a fantastic day we all had on Sports Day on Friday. The children were excited, competitive, fair and kind – showing
many of the values that we are trying to develop in their time at Ashton. Here are a few photos of a lovely day.
Hayley was person that taught us how to cross the road safely. It was good fun too.
First Hayley gave us some light yellow jackets so we could be seen. Next we went outside and we had some driveways in front of us so we looked both ways and then we crossed.
After that we came to a road, Hayley said to stop and we looked both ways again. Then we crossed safely.
Thank you Hayley for teaching us how to stay safe because it will save our lives.
This is a preview of the short film we are making about our very exciting adventure to Planet Bobble before half term. Lots of people thought that Reception and Year 1 were just having a sleepover at school but actually we took part in a real adventure …
