We have learnt about when chocolate first came to Britain and the explorers who brought it back. We have investigated the life of John Cadbury and his famous chocolate. Today, we went on a walk around the village and it was lovely to see some of the children from our classes who we waved to through the window.
This week, the Mrs T bubble have been continuing with our theme of chocolate. We have practised our measuring skills and calculated the perimeter of chocolate bars. We have also taken a daily walk and spotted a Red Kite as we were crossing the road outside of school. With Mrs Thornton, we have been playing rounders and taking part in the Virtual School Games challenge. As part of our chocolate topic, we have described Augustus Gloop who got sucked up a pipe in the chocolate factory.
The teachers have read some excerpts from stories . Some of the stories are picture books and others are more chunky storybooks. We have given you a few clues . I wonder how many of the stories you can identify. We will let you know the answers next week!
Willow Class needed a break from worksheet maths this week, so we looked for maths in nature! The children had a different task each day to try out; here are some examples of what they did.
For everyone who is part of the ‘Ashton under Hill First School family’ … We miss you all!
