Christmas is coming in Acorn Class!
Advent has certainly arrived in Acorn Class and our poor cleaner has been greeted with sparkle and tinsel on the floor each day this week despite our best efforts to tidy up behind ourselves! The tree is up and our cuddly Father Christmas is to be found hiding somewhere in the classroom every morning (though you have to use the right language to describe where he is …behind the tree, on top of the cupboard, inbetween the computer and the reading corner and so on).
We have made a beautiful host of angelic little acorn cherubs for our class advent calendar which you can see if you peep through the classroom window and we have also been busy carefully making ‘stained glass’ windows for our village advent calendar. Inevitably this has involved lots of number recognition and counting up to 24.
We have also recorded a special advent calendar for our buddies in Oak class with a video message sent by one of our little elves each day. Best of all – they are sending us back a message and each day they read us one more page of the story ‘Granny goes to Bethlehem’ which we are really enjoying.
We have also been thinking about ways in which we can be a good friend to others and how we go about talking to others if we want to join in their game or if we want to ask someone to play with us.
