It is so enjoyable to celebrate harvest time of year and particularly for our children who are lucky enough to attend a school in the heart of a rural community. Friday’s Harvest Festival at St Barbara’s Church was a vibrant celebration filled with colour, verse and song. Acorn Class provided a colourful entrance, each member brightly dressed signifying fruit and vegetables from the autumn plate. Hawthorn projected their harvest poem beautifully around the church and it was clear Willow enjoyed their dance to the ‘Harvest Habanera’, which got the congregation tapping their feet. Finally, Oak Class cleverly told their story of ‘The Rainbow People’ and how the people learnt to share their offerings for the good of all. A thought provoking finale.
Thank you to all the children and the staff who clearly put in a great deal of work to bring the festival together and to our village church who enable us to connect with our local community.
