5th June – Our first week back in the reception bubble
5th June 2020
We have had a really delightful week in our Reception bubble. It has been such a joy to have the children back together and to see them playing and interacting together so happily.
Every day we have been out for most of the morning, usually up to forest school . We’ve tried hard to keep our social distance and the children have been great at walking sensibly holding onto our ‘social distancing rope’! And once in the woods (the meadow or the orchard) we have enjoyed some great outdoor learning—covering every area of the Early Years curriculum and most of the time the children just think they’ve been playing. Perfect!
This week we talked about what it meant to be in a ‘bubble’ and we’ve had fun blowing bubbles. We have also had a snail theme : We read ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson and various other snail stories, we have researched and written facts about snails; we’ve hunted for snails and looked closely at those we’ve found, we’ve made and printed spiral patterns and ended the week today with a closely run snail race!
