Shaping Bright Futures Together

23 Hawthorn wb 5th June

It has been a busy week back in Hawthorn Class.  In Maths, both the year 1 and year 2 children are continuing to learn about money and have been looking at the different coins and notes as well as how to make totals.

In English the children have been introduced to our new book, "How to Hide a Lion at School."  Much fun was had learning the story and adding actions to help them to remember.

In Science we started a new topic, Plants. The children have started a new investigation looking at what plants need to grow.  They will be producing a plant diary so we can see how the plants develop over the next few weeks.

In Computing there was much excitement as the BeeBots were back!  The children were using them to make their own algorithms so that they could move them around a course to find different items.  They will be moving on to make their own charts over the next few weeks.

Of course, the big excitement of the week was out Castles Away Day at "Beckford Castle."  Much fun was had by all!  Click this link to see the photos KS1 Castles Away Day Photos
