Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

My Granny is a Pirate

This week has been dominated with end of term fun.  On Tuesday, our Nursery 2 children enjoyed a pirate themed party to celebrate the end of their pre-school years at Ashton.  We say a fond farewell to two of our Acorn children but hope that they will be very happy in their new schools.  They will be missed but I am sure will go on to thrive in their new settings.  Meanwhile, the N1 children that were in school on Tuesday had great fun playing in Holly classroom, getting to know their new setting and teachers.

The class have attended assemblies on 3 occasions this week and have really impressed us with their impeccable behaviour.   At other times, the children have directed their play and chosen what we do.  The pictures tell the story!

On a personal note, I would like to thank the generosity and kindness of all the Ashton school family.  I have been privileged to work in the school for the past 18 years and have enjoyed every second of it.  I am very lucky to have worked with a wonderful group of colleagues and friends, with fantastic children and their amazing families.  It is time for me hang up my whistle and enjoy a little more time to myself, however, I will never forget you and the fun we have had together.  I hope that you have a lovely summer and with a heavy heart I sign off for the last time.  Lots of love, Mrs Shiels x
