2526 Hawthorn 12th June
We are two weeks into our final half term of this year and the children are still working hard!
In English, we started our new book, which is a non-fiction instruction book an how to make different types of slime. The children are really looking forward to the practical side of this topic!
In Maths, the year 2s are completing their work on fractions and the year 1s have just started a short topic on position and direction. We started this off with a quick dance of the Cha Cha Slide – slide to the left… slide to the right… much fun was had by all!
In Topic, we have been completing the Great Fire of London and the children made their own group maps of the city of London and how it should be rebuilt.
In Science, we have been finishing our work on Animals and Humans and the children had to think about what they would need if they were stranded on a desert island. We went from things they would like to things they needed to survive. They then wrote messages in a bottle to ask for help and we launched these off our desert island!
Finally, in Music, we have been looking at pitch – high and low - and they children got to play on the xylophones and use a run of notes to play along with the song. It was a super class orchestra (but very loud!)
