Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

25 26 Hawthorn 6th March

It has been a busy two weeks back after the half term holidays and the children have settled in well to all the exciting learning and activities we have been doing,

The year 2 children had their residential trip to Malvern and were absolutely fantastic ambassadors for the school.  Take a look at the Malvern blog if you haven't already done so.

Meanwhile the year 1 children stayed in school and did a project making their own pop up books as part of our new Eco project.

Apart from this,  in English we have just started a new book, Looking into Space, a non-fiction books that gives lots of information about space and space travel.

In Maths, the year 2 children have been learning about money and the year 1 children have been mastering numbers up to 50.

In Science, we have been looking at different fruits and vegetables and which part of the plant we eat.

In Topic, we have just started "Protect our Planet" and starting to think about reusing and recycling and why this is important.

Finally, it was World Book Day this week.  Thank you for all your support with the super costumes.  We had lots of different characters and adjectives and enjoyed making crowns of our favourite books and sharing our ideas.
