Shaping Bright Futures Together

Willow W/C 16th May 2022

This week, as part of the preparation for our Jubilee celebrations, the children in Willow Class took part in a dance workshop called 'Dancing Through the Decades'. The children learned a dance from the 70s and will perform this next week for our Jubilee Street Party.

As part of our Maths work, the children have been learning about time. We used a calendar to learn about Leap Years and how many days and weeks there are in a year. We have also learned about seconds, minutes and hours. The children need to use a digital and analogue clock to tell the time to the nearest minute. This is something they can also practise at home.

In Science lessons this week, the children have planned an experiment to investigate the amount of friction created by various surfaces. We have learned about the advantages and disadvantages of friction in everyday life. In music lessons, the children have learned how to play an tuned instrument along with a piece of music. We have learned how to read the notes d and e and where these are written on the stave.
