Shaping Bright Futures Together

The Selfish Crocodile

We have had a very busy, but fun, week.  We started by focusing on Dental Hygiene.  The story introduced us to a crocodile who has not looked after his teeth and is in great pain. We discussed why he may have bad teeth and learnt how to brush our teeth properly.  We were impressed with how knowledgeable the children were on the subject.

On Tuesday, we had an inspirational visit from Mrs McLellan, who came to tell us all about her work as a dentist. The children were fascinated by what she said and were keen to dress up and play in our role play dentist surgery!

On Wednesday, we focused on Health Eating, finding out about treats and healthy foods.  The children are getting very proficient at being able to sort the different food types.  They have had opportunity to sample different types of fruits, some of which they haven't tasted before.

On Thursday, we welcomed a new child into the Acorn Class family.  Together, the children made cupcakes and decorated them to look like a Bog Baby.  Most of our N2 children then stayed after school and made their own tea - a pizza dressed with their favourite healthy toppings. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We finished the week revisiting all the things that we have learnt in the week, before going home for a relaxing weekend!
