2627 Oak wb 12th October
Oak Class have had a busy couple of weeks. In Maths we have explored negative numbers and perfected our formal methods of addition and subtraction, using dienes to understand how to exchange.
In English we have been writing instructions for characters in ‘Stone Age Boy’ to explain to them how we make clothes today and comparing it to how they would have made clothes in the Neolithic period.
In Science we have been exploring different types of rocks and their properties, finding out which rocks float and which will dissolve in acid rain.
We have continued to explore the Stone Age in our topic lessons, discovering what foods they ate and where they got it from, also how their homes changed from the early to the late Stone Age. In art the students have created some fantastic charcoal drawings of animals that may have been found on cave walls. Photos for parents here
