Shaping Bright Futures Together

Holly Class w/b 28th November 2022

It has been a busy week with all things Nativity in Holly class. We have rehearsed each day with the children in Acorn and Hawthorn classes and the children are making us so proud. They are using their big voices to say their lines on the stage, doing their very best acting and singing their hearts out - you are in for a treat if you are able to come and watch one of the performances next week! Thank you to everyone who has sent in clothes to help with costumes, on Friday morning we had a very exciting time trying everything on!

This week, we have really enjoyed reading The Jolly Postman and all of the letters he delivers from fairy-tale characters. We have learnt about the role of the post office in the community and the children worked together to set up our very own Holly Class Post Office. They have created signs, decided on the opening times, have a shop area and even a photo booth for passport photos! It has been a hive of activity with lots of letters being written and sent, parcels being weighed and frequent deliveries around the classroom!! We are looking forward to a very important post-sorting job next week...

As well as this, we have been asking the children to show off all of the brilliant learning they have done this term. We have worked with all of the children to see how they are getting on with different aspects of their learning and they are just amazing. Everyone has achieved so much since September and should be very proud.

The children all came to school on Thursday very excited for December 1st and the beginning of advent, we were even treated to a chilly morning and some frost on the ground. We have our own little advent tradition in Holly class which has begun and each day the children take it in turns to unwrap a different festive story (along with a little chocolate treat, of course!). We have loved sharing these at the end of the day and can't wait to see which stories are inside next week's parcels!
