Shaping Bright Futures Together

Willow wb 11.05.26

Willow class thoroughly enjoyed their Victorian Day last week and we were so impressed with everyone’s efforts to dress up and get into character. In class, we experienced some unusual lessons, including an object lesson all about a wooden spoon and observational drawing, which were both typical activities from the Victorian era. In addition, we did a moral story lesson and had a go at handwriting with a "quill". The children embraced the experience wonderfully and showed great enthusiasm throughout the day.

This week, our Year 4 children have had an amazing experience, as they have been away on their residential trip, and we have enjoyed hearing all about the activities and experiences they have had.

In school, our Year 3 children have been researching rivers in the UK and taking part in a STEM building challenge linked to our topic on rivers. The children worked brilliantly together and showed great creativity and problem-solving skills throughout the challenge.

In Computing, we have been learning about organising and sorting data using Excel. The children have been inputting data and exploring how to display it in different formats. They have enjoyed developing their digital skills and learning how data can be presented clearly and effectively.

In Writing lessons we have been exploring a new text called an anthology of intriguing animals and focusing on retrieving relevant factual information. In Maths we have been learning how to subtract fractions from the whole and mixed numbers.
