The Rainbow Fish
The Rainbow Fish tells an excellent story centering on friendship and sharing, values that we encourage within the classroom. The weather was particularly hot on Monday and Tuesday, so we gave the children learning opportunities which would also involve getting wet. They particularly enjoyed 'washing' my car and then the outside area of our classroom!
It has also been sports week. Each day, we have done sports style activities e.g. hurdles, beanbag throwing, running etc On Tuesday, it was the school sports day and the children in class that day joined the rest of the school on the playing field to participate in the Acorn race. Our bean bags were also used in maths, with children being asked to put theirs in a specific shape - circle, square, triangle or rectangle.
