Shaping Bright Futures Together

Fireworks

This week has all been about celebrations.  We started the week with the story of 'Room on the Broom' which prompted conversation about our Halloween experiences and news about our Half Term holidays.

We have also been thinking about fireworks and learning about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night.  Some of the children made splatter paintings and we all made firework rockets with our names on. We went on an imaginary trip to a Bonfire Party, and pretended to be different fireworks and eat marshmallows!

When we looked in the 'What's in the Box' there were lots of different things all associated with the Hindu festival of Diwali.  We learnt about the different celebrations and made a beautiful Rangoli picture on the playground.  We also made lanterns by covering jars in our favourite autumnal leaves.

We finished the week by doing Forest School.  We had hot chocolate that had been made using the Kelly Kettle and toasted marshmallows on an open fire. What a treat!
