Shaping Bright Futures Together

Hawthorn wb 17th January

Lots of learning has been happening this week in Hawthorn class.

In our Maths lessons we have been learning about arrays and how they are made up of rows and columns and how they need to be tidy to make sure that they can be counted easily.  The year 2s then moved on to multiplication and looked at how this links to repeated addition and grouping. They will shortly start to learn their times tables!

In our English lessons the children have continued with the work on Fatou, fetch the water!  They thought of questions that they wanted to ask Fatou and then Miss Miller was in the hot seat while they asked their questions.

In RE we have been looking at our favourite possessions and precious objects and the children showed them to each other and then explained why they were precious.  They also thought about how to look after them and keep them safe.

In Science the children have continued to learn about materials.  This week they went on a Materials Hunt where they had their own clipboards and went around the classroom to try and find things that were made from wood, glass, metal, plastic, paper and fabric.  The children noticed that many things are made out of plastic.
