Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

Major Dizzy, Major Glad

With the end of term fast approaching, we have been finishing off our paper bag houses and making our lollipop family to live in them.  We have also started preparations for our Platinum Jubilee celebrations (more details to follow next week).

The book Major Dizzy, Major Glad has made us think about life in the past.  Each day, we have looked at a different item i.e spinning top, sampler, old book, china doll, wooden toy and discussed the clues that tell us that it is old.  We have also learnt the letter S and have been spotting it in books,

Outdoors, we have been practising our throwing and catching, and some of us have been playing football.  On Tuesday, we joined with Holly Class for a  dance workshop and learnt to do the Cha Cha Slide.

For some messy fun we have been experimenting with Jelli Baff and also 'cake decorating'. We made a flour paste and practised using a piping tube, having great fun squirting the paste to make patterns.
