Shaping Bright Futures Together

22-Acorn The Jolly Postman

The Post Office that we have built in our role play area has been very busy this week.  We have had lots of children 'writing' postcards, buying stamps and posting them.  We have also had several postal workers who have delivered them!  We also have been making use of our new map reading skills to follow a map and build a house of bricks for the 3 little pigs.

We have been developing our gross motor skills by using the tricycles, dancing in time to music and making big circles in the air and on paper.  We are going to be using our circle drawing expertise to make a surprise for our families.  We have also been busy making some lovely decorations to be sold at the school Christmas Fayre.

On Wednesday, we popped into the hall to see a Hindu display.  We were enchanted by the items that were on show and were able to talk about Sita and Rama, who we had learnt about during Diwali.  Some of us even had chance to dress up in a saris and scarfs.

We would like to thank the group of Ashton Under Hill Guides who have kindly upcycled a cable reel to make a large colourful mushroom for us to play with.  Our children have really enjoyed using their imagination and making small creatures to live in it. Also, we would like to thank Clare who has decorated our windows with Christmas scenes, with the help of the children.
