Shaping Bright Futures Together

Zog and the Flying Doctors

The start of our week was inspired by the fantastic book 'Zog and the Flying Doctors'.  After a discussion about the role of a Doctor and ways to keep ourselves healthy, we got the Doctor's kit out and used it in our play.  On Tuesday, we read 'Fairy tale Hairdresser' and Mrs Clayton set up our very own salon, which has proved very popular with children practising styling each other's hair.

We have continued work on our listening skills, playing games, specifically to encourage the use of pronouns i.e. first/last, he/she, in/under.   We have learnt some new songs this week, one of which we sing whilst manipulating playdough (to strengthen our fine motor skills).  After practising 'playing the piano' in the dough, we thought it would be a good idea to actually go and play a real piano.  This proved very popular.

The Early Years Team would also like to thank the school's generous parents for not only donating their unwanted toys, but also giving their children money to buy some more!  We raised £155.80 which will be used to replace some of our older toys.
