25 Hawthorn Wb 12 May
We have had a lovely week in the sunshine in Hawthorn class.
In English, we have carried on with our work on "The Disgusting Sandwich" and have been concentrating on the grammar, looking at verbs, expanded noun phrases and tenses.
In Maths, the Y1 children finished their topic on multiplication and division and have now joined the Y2s in learning about fractions. The Y1s were learning about half and the Y2s have been looking at thirds and calculating the whole of an amount,
We have continued our work on castles in our Topic lessons and were looking at the different rooms inside a castle and all the different jobs that needed to be done. To link with this we also have continued to construct our own castle models, hopefully photos will follow next week!
We became photographers in Computing and started to look at all the different devices we can use to take a digital photograph and then went outside to take a range of photos.
Finally, as you can see from the photos, we had a great time on the Maypole workshop. What a fabulous activity. The children enjoyed it so much they asked if we could do this every PE lesson!
