Shaping Bright Futures Together

This is the castle the King Built

Our week started with great excitement as our caterpillars have now shed their last skins to emerge as chrysalises.  We have enjoyed wonderful conversations about the changes that we can see and we have predicted what will happen next.

This week's book has told us all about the people who built and lived within a castle. Our  role play castle has also changed and now has a more medieval look. We have enjoyed dressing up as knights and we have started work on designing and making our own shields.  It is amazing how varied the designs are.

In phonics, we have been thinking about the initial sounds of the names of the children in the class, (whilst our younger children have been identifying their friends using robot voices).  In maths, we have made castle shapes using blocks and have been practising our jigsaw making skills.

A very strange thing happened on Thursday, an egg appeared in our class room with a note asking us to look after it.  We have replied and promised to do so.  Please keep an eye on the website for next week's update......Will it hatch?!
