Little Raindrop
We have started this term's topic of 'Beside The Seaside' with a book about a little raindrop, which tells the story of the water cycle in a fun way. This was certainly approriate on Thursday, when the rain poured and we decided to go outside to investigate. The children donned oversized wellies and waterproofs and went in search of puddles to jump into.
During June, we will be participating in the 30 Days Wild challenge, where children are encouraged to connect with nature. Each day we will spend time outside enjoying the world around us. This week, we made mud and painted with it, ran through water and made footprints and built water courses. Next week, we will focus on using our senses to explore.
We have also looked at repeating patterns and identified colours by their initial sound. Work has started on surprises for Father's Day......Please don't question the children, they probably won't be able to keep it secret!
Thank you to all the families that have made an animal out of recycled plastic. What an inventive group you are. You have all put a lot of effort in, with excellent results. They will displayed with the rest of the school's competition entries over the weekend during Open Gardens. Luckily, it is the general public who will decide which win and not me!
