Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

Hawthorn wb 21st March

Hawthorn Class have been working hard again this week!

In English we have been thinking about explorers and have been writing a diary entry as if we were Christopher Columbus as well as creating our own information sheet on this intrepid explorer!

Maths this week has seen the children take on the termly assessments and they have all been trying really hard and concentrating to show us what they can do.  Well done all for keeping going!

In Topic, continuing with the Explorers theme, the children did some Design Technology and made their own little ships like the Santa Maria and the Pinto!

Finally, in Music we have been looking at music with a Bossa Nova beat and after dancing around the room to "It Had Better Be Tonight" by Michael Buble, we then got the instruments out and played along to the song we have been learning, "Round and Round".  We used tuned instruments (boomwhackers and chime bars) to play on the appropriate beats.  What a fabulous orchestra!

We all enjoyed the little pick on Friday afternoon, what a clean playground!
