Shaping Bright Futures Together

Oak - Business Partnership at the Christmas Fayre

Most of this week has been dedicated to our preparations for the Christmas Fayre. We have been creating posters to advertise the stalls and getting everything made in readiness for Friday. This has involved some baking, lots of painting, counting sweeties and making all sorts of decorations to make each stall look enticing to visit. The children have been working out the costings for the items they have used to help them predict how much profit they will make. They are extremely excited and can't wait to get selling! Check out next weeks blog to see how we got on.

Outside of this excitement, we have completed all our assessments and all the Oak staff are extremely pleased with the progress the children have made this term. The results show how hard they have been working and how well they can apply themselves in these independent tasks.

In Science on Wednesday, Mrs Thompson, completed a dissolving and melting experiment which the children had planned last week. They dissolved a range of substances and melted chocolate with water of differing temperatures. They really enjoyed using their scientific skills and managed to make some really impressive scientific observations.

Oak Class welcomed Mr Grice this week, a 3rd year BEd student from Gloucestershire University. He will be starting to teach the class in the new year for some part of each day. We are very happy to have him with us.
