Shaping Bright Futures Together

The Journey

We are delighted to welcome 2 new children and Miss Saunders to the school family this term.  All have settled in well.

We have enjoyed the story of the ‘The Journey’ and have followed the boat as it travels downstream to the sea.  We have made our own map so that we could recreate the story and also introduced a Beebot which the children enjoyed programming.  They discovered that we could also use our map as a ramp, and thoroughly enjoyed testing the angles that it could be balanced at to produce the ultimate slope!

One of the children noticed that Jack Frost had visited. We went to look outside to see if we could see any signs of him. We spotted sheets of ice that had formed on puddles of water and decided to make our own ice windows.  We left a bucket of water out overnight, with some pretty leaves floating in it. The next morning, we found that the top of the water had been frozen and that we could hang the window up. Sadly, it didn’t take long to melt.
