Shaping Bright Futures Together

The Snail and the Whale

We thoroughly enjoyed watching the school dance festival and Year 5 performance of 'A funny thing happened on the way to Camelot'.  It was lovely for us to see our older friends performing so well.

We have also been inspired by Matisse's The Snail.  We have looked at the colours and shapes and used them to play some maths games. We have also been experimenting with cooked pasta and have attempted to mould it into spirals like a snail shell.  Each child has cut out their own shape and these will be used to make an Acorn Class version of this masterpiece.

On Safer Internet Day, we talked about devices that we have at home and how we use them. We have also been practising our story telling skills and listening to the sounds that words begin with.

We finished off the week, making and then eating popcorn whilst watching an animation of The Snail and the Whale – a special request from one of our children.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for a wonderful half term.  The Acorn team wish you all a restful and fun half term holiday.
