Shaping Bright Futures Together

23 Acorn Sharing a Shell

This week we have focused on the ocean and the animals that live in it.  We have been on imaginative journeys on boats and airplanes and been diving under the sea.  We have also erected a tent and had a wonderful time going on a camping trip.  Mrs Peacey brought in a star projector and we had great fun gazing up at a star filled ceiling!

We have also concentrated on our physical development, spending time outside on the bikes and trikes and dancing in the classroom. We have learnt a new rhyme about 2 little fishes and have some hand movements to go with it.  The children have done lots of mark making in the light box, with chalk and with pencils.

Everyone's confidence is improving, and news time is becoming really interesting as the children share snippets of news about their family life. Our counting is good, with many of the children counting shells with 1:1 correspondence.  In literacy, we have been reading a variety of ocean themed books, with the children making predictions about what will happen next.  Next week, we will be going on a more land based adventure!
