Netball Club Special Visit

This week we were lucky enough to have a very special visit at our weekly netball club, which is held at the new village tennis and netball courts.

This year Wychavon District council celebrates it's 50th Anniversary and as part of this,  Councillor Robert Raphael, the Chairman, is tasked with visiting every parish in the district. This week was Ashton's turn and as part of his visit, Councillor Raphael wanted to come and see our netball club in action at the new courts, which were made dual use, enabling netball to be played on them as well

The school are fortunate enough to be able to use these facilities and as well as netball club, we regularly use them for our P.E lessons.

The Councillor and his assistant Fiona, stayed for the whole of our session and thoroughly enjoyed watching us in action! They were very impressed with the children's skills especially as a lot of our children only started playing netball in September. The teams displayed great teamwork and we were very proud of them all. It was nice to see Karen Rowley and Dave Rose, Chair and Vice Chair of the Parish Council, who came along to support us as well.
