Willow wb 30.06.25
Willow class have been learning more about evacuees during WW2 and the different experiences they had. We used role cards to help us learn about children's life in the countryside and how their experiences were very different based upon the families they were staying with. Some children had a really positive experience where they were looked after and supported with their education whilst others had different experiences and didn't feel they fitted in. We then went on to write a balanced argument to consider the positives and negatives as well as our overall thoughts to summarise.
In Maths lessons, our Year 3 children have been learning about the properties of 3d shapes and describing these using mathematical vocabulary. We enjoyed making different examples from spaghetti and playdough to help us describe the shapes accurately. Our Year 4 children have been learning to draw line graphs and plotting data with increasing accuracy. This is a challenging skill but we were pleased with how well the children developed their skills.
In Writing lessons we have been consolidating our knowledge of direct speech and apply punctuation accurately. We marked Mrs Thompson's work and then had a go at writing our own conversations between two characters from Oliver and the Seawigs. We have really enjoyed looking at this text and have developed a good understanding of the different characters and plot.
