Shaping Bright Futures Together

25 26 Hawthorn 19th December

We've reached the end of the Autumn term and what a fantastic time we've had together!

The children really did us proud in the Nativity and we hope you enjoyed the performance.

This week we've continued some work on shape and the children very much enjoyed finding out about vertical line symmetry and applying their learning to all sorts of festive items! We've had symmetrical Christmas trees, baubles, presents and snowmen.

They also wrote some lovely letters to Santa which we have sent to the North Pole by special post  and we hope they'll be lucky when he comes to call on Christmas Eve.

We finished off our RE unit by reflecting on all the good things Christians believe Jesus brings - including friendship, forgiveness and caring for others. We also completed our transport topic in a very exciting way - by making a super sleigh for Santa! The children loved this DT project and produced some fantastic results, as you can see from the photos.

On Wednesday, they had a fantastic visit to our new Forest School site during which they discovered the area and then enjoyed hot chocolate and smores!  We hope to visit this fantastic area more regularly in 2026.

And finally, we'd like to thank you for all your support this term and send our very best wishes for a peaceful and joyous festive period. We hope you have a wonderful time and look forward to seeing the children again and catching up with all their news on Tuesday 6th January 2026. Merry Christmas everyone!
