Shaping Bright Futures Together

Willow wb 06.10.25

Willow Class have had a very busy few weeks full of exciting learning!

In our Topic lessons, we have been exploring Ancient Egypt. We looked closely at primary sources of evidence from King Tutankhamun’s tomb and used our inference skills to work out what these mysterious objects might have been used for based on their appearance. The children showed brilliant curiosity and imagination! Next week, we are going to create our own discovery of an ancient Egyptian tomb, just like archaeologists! We will also be learning more about how this fascinating discovery was made and why it became one of the most famous finds in history.

In Science, we have been learning all about the parts of a plant. The children have drawn their own scientific diagrams and added labels to show off the new vocabulary they have learned. Everyone has worked so carefully and shown attention to detail.

In Maths, we have been learning to use column methods for both addition and subtraction. The children have been really accurate, especially when adding numbers with different numbers of digits and showing exchanges. It’s been wonderful to see their growing confidence with these written methods!

In Writing, we have been exploring the beautiful text Firebird. We have been focusing on using coordinating conjunctions to add relevant detail and make our sentences more interesting. They have made thoughtful choices in their writing and are beginning to include more challenging vocabulary.

Well done Willow class!
