Mr Wolf's Pancakes

Pancakes have been a key feature of this week’s learning.  We have enjoyed the stories of the Big Pancake and Mr Wolf’s pancakes; made and eaten pancakes and played in our pancake shop.  We have been buying pancakes and counting out pennies to pay for them.  We have also had great fun doing pancake races and balancing pancakes on our heads.

On Tuesday, we celebrated St David’s Day and listened to Mrs Clayton telling us a story in Welsh. It rained on Wednesday, so we decided to go out and collect the water and play in the rain.  We made some excellent water shutes – what fun we had pouring our water down them. We have also been listening to Mrs Shiels’ ‘robot’ voice as she tells us where things are hidden and we have found them. We got so good at this, that we then hid things for Mrs Shiels and some of us used our ‘robot’ voices to say where they were hidden!

On Friday, it was World Book Day and we had fun showing off our costumes and taking part in the different learning opportunities inspired by The Day the Crayons Quit, Little Red Riding Hood and Room on a Broom.
