Japanese Art

To support our Geographical learning in our new topic on Japan, we have been looking at Japanese art this week in Oak Class.

We looked at the woodblock print by Hokusi called The Great Wave off Kanagawa and re- created our own versions using pastels and wax crayon. They looked really effective and the children's skill at using and blending colour was developed.

We also created some clay pinch pots which we will paint and turn into cups for drinking tea out of when we role-play a Japanese Tea Ceremony. Pictures of this coming soon!
