Shaping Bright Futures Together

Malvern residential Years 2 and 3

Our Year 2 and 3 children enjoyed a fun filled residential trip to Malvern on Thursday and Friday (22nd & 23rd February). Despite the very wet weather and muddy conditions, the children got stuck into all of the activities and we were extremely proud of both their behaviour and attitude towards the challenges. Our instructors encouraged the children to have a ‘challenge by choice’ mindset whereby they set themselves a personal challenge based on how confident they felt about an activity and they were brilliant at pushing themselves to do their very best.

There were four main activities to try out whilst we were at the centre and these included zip lining, the climbing wall, low ropes and nightline. We chose teamwork to be one of our key areas to work on and they did amazingly. From guiding each other blindfolded along the nightline to supporting and encouraging their friends to achieve their challenges on the climbing wall, they were all super stars. There were even some great examples of working together when it came to making their own beds and packed lunches!

One of the most exciting parts of the trip was the opportunity to stay in a dorm room with their friends and, on the final day, the children had to prepare for their dorm inspections. The results were so close so the final score came down to entertainment. We had jokes, singing and even dancing and so the teachers were glad that the overall score was made by our leader at the centre as it would have been so hard to choose.

A brilliant time was had by all and hopefully the children will have come away with memories that will stick with them forever. We are sure that you will enjoy looking through the photos with the children.
