Shaping Bright Futures Together

Storm Whale in Winter

The Storm Whale in Winter has been a perfect introduction into how important friendship is to our mental wellbeing. We have been thinking about our emotions this week and have discussed how we have been feeling at various times in the day. We also talked about things that worry us and posted these concerns into our 'Worry Monster', in the hope that these fears would go away.  Several of us were worried about the dark and monsters, so we made dream catchers to hang on the end of our beds to keep bad dreams away.

We have done a mindful exercise each day, i.e. listening to music and drawing what we hear, going on a magical carpet ride  and a very special walk to the meadow with Yr 4 children. We also each took a daffodil home to nurture.

We have also done a Scavenger hunt, where we have had to count and collect different numbers of items that we have found outside.  We then used these to make sound shakers, tuning our ears into loud and quiet sounds.
