Shaping Bright Futures Together

Willow wb 02.06.25

Welcome back for our final half term of the year. It is going to be busy! We had a lovely start back when we joined up with Oak class on Thursday afternoon to design and create our recycled creatures for the Open Gardens competition. We asked the children to consider how they were going to join all of the different parts together and what features they would need to include. We were impressed with their levels of independence and creativity. We hope you enjoy taking a look at the final pieces on our photos section.

On Tuesday, the children practised how to say different colours and the alphabet in French.

As part of our maths lessons, the children in Year 4 have been learning to tell the time using the 24-hour clock. From converting times like 2:30pm to 14:30, to planning their perfect school day timetable. Year 3 children have been solving tricky problems involving years, months, and days.

Across both year groups, children have been revising how to use commas in a list. From describing their favourite animals, to listing what they can see in a picture, they’ve been writing fantastic descriptive sentences like: “In the bright, sunny park, I saw a red kite, a yellow ball, a green bench, and a black dog. In writing lessons, we will base our work on the text “Oliver and the Seawigs”. We will explore commas for clarity and using commas to separate clauses.
