News from the Acorn preschool bubble
This week has been dragon week! Inspired by the story of George and the Dragon, we have made dragons out of egg boxes, played with the castle and dragons, practised new songs (and made our own) and mastered a new game which we played in the park where the children had to save the princess from the dragon. We have experimented with ‘hot and cold’, watching ice cubes melt, and the rate at which they do this in different locations. We have also learnt about fire safety and enjoyed a visit from Daisy’s froglets!
Last week we were inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk. We had fun acting out the story, used our sense of smell to decide which things smelt good and which things didn’t, and tried on lots of different pairs of shoes to decide whether they were “too big” or “too small”. On Thursday, it rained all day and we had fun collecting the rain and watching it pour down guttering. Thank you to Josh who brought in a dragonfly’s moulted skin. We were all fascinated and learnt about the life cycle of a dragonfly.
