Ashton First School
|Headlines by Mrs Sharon Cole||Friday 6th May 2016|
I am delighted to announce that following a very rigorous two day interview programme, the Governors have appointed my replacement for September. Details will follow shortly once the necessary protocol has been followed, but we feel confident that Ashton will be in safe hands and will continue to flourish. Mrs Kirk’s position has also been advertised this week. We wish to recruit two people (big shoes to fill!) , namely a full time School Secretary and a part-time Finance Officer.
If you know anyone who would be interetested, please direct them to the following link on eteach where full details may be found: http://www.eteach.com/microsite/jobdetails.aspx?vacno=661216&Page=1 http://www.eteach.com/microsite/jobdetails.aspx?vacno=661242&Page=1
These details are also available on the ‘Wmjobs’ website.
|Thank you for responding to my comments last week. There has been a noticeable improvement and I trust that this will continue. Thank you for your on-going support in this matter.|
KS1 Visit to St. Stephen’s School and Redditch Mosque:
All of the children from Acorn and Hawthorn classes went to visit St Stephen’s C of E School last Tuesday and received a very warm welcome. The visit had been arranged as part of our on-going plan to widen our children’s horizons. This visit enabled our pupils to visit a school in a more urban setting and also to follow up on their studies on Islam as part of our RE curriculum.
|One of the Teaching Assistants from the school kindly showed us around Redditch Mosque during the afternoon and answered all of our many questions most sensitively and informatively. It was such a positive and fascinating experience for all concerned and next week, we are looking forward to welcoming some Year 3 pupils from St. Stephens to our school which will include a village walk.|
