Shaping Bright Futures Together

22 Acorn Christmas Week

The snow brought more excitement to the Acorn class this week.  We went out and explored the wintery scene and returned to our nice warm classroom to continue our festive preparations.  We have made some beautiful cards and calendars as gifts for our families.

We have been on imaginary journeys into a winter wonderland, practised our target shooting by throwing ‘snowballs’ at a snowman and made a snowy tree using some corn starch packaging.  On Wednesday, we decorated some gingerbread men and then ate them, with some delicious hot chocolate.

Thursday was party day! Most of the class were able to take part and we played traditional party games and had a wonderful visit from Father Christmas and his helpful Elf who looks remarkably like Mrs Shiels!  We finished the week by joining the school to sing 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas' in the Carols around the tree service.

The Acorn team would like to thank you for sending your children to pre-school at Ashton-Under-Hill First School and we wish you all a very Happy Christmas.
