Shaping Bright Futures Together

23 Oak Week Beginning 13th March 2023

This week has been dominated by our performances of Jo White and the Seven - a week that has made many many wonderful new memories to treasure.

We are so very proud of all the children and have seen them grow in confidence and their ability to work together to achieve something very special. Thank you to all of you who cam to see us - the feedback from you has been brilliant and really supported the children to believe in themselves and make you proud of them. Please see the gallery for photographs of your child on stage.

Aside from the play, we have continued our learning in topic to study different biomes. Children focussed on 6 of the main biomes and worked in small groups to research the main characteristics of these areas and look at how climate change is affecting them. They then presented a summary of each biome to the class so they could learn about the other 5. Summarising is a key Reading and Writing skill so this was a brilliant cross curricular exercise for the children to complete. Our next lesson will focus in on our local biome of woodland and use the first hand experiences from forest school last week to inform their work.

It is the Poetry Plate competition next week- we hope you will be able to join us for our special assembly on Friday.
