Shaping Bright Futures Together

Plant Your Pants!

The whole school joined together to participate in the Plant Your Pants initiative.  After an assembly in which we discussed why soil is important and what it actually is, each class took a pair of pants to plant in their class flower bed.  The idea behind this is, the quicker that the pants disintegrate, the healthier the soil.  In approximately 8 weeks time, each class will then dig up their pants and we will compare the results to find out whose flower bed is the healthiest!

Afterwards, the KS2 children did further investigations, observing the soil and discovering its different components and the minibeasts living in it.  They have also decided to plant some paper pants to see which pants disintegrate first.

Watch this space to find out which class' flower bed is the healthiest!
