Shaping Bright Futures Together

Holly Class W/B 11th December 2023

What an exciting week! The children had their dress rehearsal for the nativity on Monday afternoon and performed to parents and families on Tuesday and Thursday. All their hard work has paid off and they did a brilliant job!

In amongst the nativity fun, the children have finished their topic by thinking about how cars have changed over time and drew a picture of what they think they could look like in the future!

In phonics this week, Reception have revisited the phase 2 sounds and blending these into words as well as completing their end of term phonics assessments. Year 1 have revisited the phase 5 sounds, with a particular focus on split digraphs.

In maths, Reception have continued ordering numerals 1-5 and year 1 have completed their end of term maths assessments.

In English, Reception have written Christmas themed sentences with close support. Year 1 have practiced and recited Christmas poems to the class, as well as creating their own!

Holly have enjoyed lots of Christmas activities this week, including making Christmas tree decorations, playing with Christmas small world scenes, making Christmas cards and lots more!

We are so proud of all the work the children have done this term and their amazing nativity. We can’t wait to enjoy the last week of term with all of you.

Have a great weekend. Miss Palmer and Miss Hunt
