Acorn 24 The Gingerbread Man
Gingerbread has been the focus of the week. We have made gingerbread men, constructed a gingerbread house, decorated biscuits and eaten them all. What fun we have had!
This story has been a firm favourite, with the children really engaging with it and joining in with all the popular refrains. We took four pictures from the story and used them as an ordering exercise. The children could then use these as a method for retelling the story.
We joined Holly class on Monday when they had a a visit from Harold the giraffe, who told us all about healthy bodies and healthy eating. On Friday, we joined them again for a visit to the meadow, where we enjoyed the story of Chicken Licken and played underneath the Oak tree.
We have been counting buttons on gingerbread men and have been practising our rhyming. We have also started to learn our new song for the school nativity and we will start on Christmas preparations next week, so expect some very excited children!
