Shaping Bright Futures Together

Immi

This week, we read the beautiful book ‘Immi’ about an Inuit girl who lives in an igloo and finds some colourful, leaves and feathers washed up in an ice hole. We decided to build an igloo and to decorate it with our own leaves, flowers, feathers and starfish.  We enjoyed playing in it and using our imagination.

We also made an ice hole, and fished for shells and fish. How many did we catch?  Then we watched a video which showed us how an igloo is constructed and set about exploring ice.  We thoroughly enjoyed watching lumps of ice melt, and found different ways of doing this. As the ice melted, we had to predict what would be inside and how many items there would be in there.  We are looking forward to more investigations next week.
