Shaping Bright Futures Together

Chicken Licken

This weeks plans were hijacked by the arrival of 8 beautiful ducklings. The children have been really excited and thoroughly enjoyed watching them develop from bedraggled newborns to independent fluffy ducklings. They have inspired both in song and story.

This has led us rather nicely into thinking about Easter.  We had a wonderful visit from Mirka, who told us all about Easter celebrations in Slovakia.  We hung beautiful decorations on spring blossoming branches and decorated a lamb cake. It tasted delicious! Thank you Mirka, we really enjoyed your visit.

In addition to this, we have been testing our balancing with egg and spoon races, built towers, roads and train tracks (developing our construction skills and positional language) and looked at the life cycle of a duckling and frog.  And, of course, because it will soon be Easter, we have done a treasure hunt, Easter egg hunt and made shredded wheat and chocolate nests.
