Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

Hawthorn wb 13th December

Well, we have made it to the last week of term!  The children are all very tired but very excited about the up coming Christmas holidays.

We have finished our topic on the Great Fire of London and the children did some map work looking at the design of London, how the fire spread and how the redesign could stop it happening again.

After completing this, Hawthorn Class then started to celebrate Christmas. The children made pop up Christmas cards, did Christmas maths and then on Thursday we had a fantastic Christmas party.  The children all looked great in their party clothes (we did, of course, have a fashion show) and then we joined up with Holly Class and Acorns to play musical statues, musical shapes, draw the snowman and pass the parcel.  Of course, the highlight of the morning was the very special visit from Father Christmas where all of the children were lucky enough to get an early present!

Finally, we would just like to thank you all for your support  this term and to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
