Ashton Under Hill First School

Shaping Bright Futures Together

There was great excitement in Acorn Class this week when we arrived in school to find huge footprints and a scattering of multicoloured feathers in our pirate ship. - Who has been visiting our classroom?

Our little detectives were on the hunt for clues. They found ways of measuring the footprints and our preschoolers went off around the school to see if any of the teachers' feet matched the size of the footprints - but with no luck!

Back in the classroom letters were written to warn the visitor not to take the pirate ship ('because it is made of cardboard and will go soggy in the water') and posters were drawn ('Have you seen a pirate  or his parrot?')
